Apple doesn’t like the word “fail”, but it’s bad run with iPhone SE is still continuing. If a phone aces in test results, people take it as a recommendation and the news spreads very fast. Similarly, bad reports spread equally faster and a firm’s crisis management team comes into play here. iPhone SE clearly challenges 6s and the internal hardware is much better. But when it comes to durability, SE loses the battle. It has a screen‐size advantage but that didn’t influence the sales directly. Early adopters preferred “6” models and various retailers gave lucrative deals to attract them. A 0.1% market share is negligible and it was not expected from a device like SE.
SquareTrade gives extended warranty and they often test devices. These videos are really helpful and people watch them before buying. All three iPhone siblings were taken and 6S dominated the others. From excessive bend to water tests, every aspect of these phones was tested. The design is compact but that has nothing to do with durability. This news will create a bad impression on people and without something extremely creative, Apple can’t save iPhone SE. The vital pressure test defeated SE at just 160 pounds and it’s not at all impressive. The benchmark for 6S was 170 pounds and after 178 pounds, it showed minimum bent.
If a phone is water‐resistant, people are ready to give extra money for it. When SE was dipped in water, the problems began very soon. It took just one minute to shut the phone off, clearly disappointing. People want their phone to have at least 30 minutes of water withstanding capacity, without that, it’s not worth buying. The physical damage is huge, if the phone is dropped and the screen splits in no time. This video evidence is an eye‐opener and it shows why new phones are not necessarily different.
