The battle between the FBI and Apple is all set to head to the court where it will be heard officially on ach 22nd. While initially apple was fighting the battle alone, now it seems that the company is no longer alone in the fight. It has the support of 40 individuals, organization and companies that is standing by it against the FBI. The companies are standing by Apple and protesting to the fact that the order that was issued by the court to the company in regards to unlocking of the iPhone could compromise the iPhone security measures that the company has taken.
Giants like Snapchat, Microsoft, Dropbox, Google, Facebook are just a few of the companies that are beside Apple. Though the support was not given immediately due to the fact that the companies were worried about the different consequences the industry would have had to face in case Apple lost the case against the FBI. There is even word that Samsung is in support of the encryption idea but has not made any kind of commitment whether it will actually standby it’s rival in court. The statement from the company is yet to be decided upon and released.
There have been amicus briefs that have been filed in regards to the case by various privacy groups, a few of them include the free speech committee of United Nations, Access Now and the American Civil liberties Union are just a few names. Though Samsung is not willing to go official with their support, however it has said that it supports Apple when it comes to the privacy factor. They also went ahead and mentioned that it would be a breach in consumer trust if the backdoor was designed and that customer privacy is something that holds top priority.
