Apple’s app ecosystem is constantly evolving and with the addition of a few third‐party apps, the entire experience becomes extremely engaging. We all know about BitTorrent and the revolution it caused in P2P file sharing. The landscape of the internet was completely changed by torrent clients and people were able watch movies, listen to music and even get their hands on advanced softwares. BitTorrent debuted on Apple TV only recently and their brand new P2P Streaming app is exactly what the already awesome Apple TV needed. The US Election 2016 is already dominating the internet and there is massive uproar on Social Media as well. This new app on the iOS platform ‐ OTT news, aims to cover this election from a completely different angle.
The big news channels are giving exclusive coverage of the 2016 election, but OTT News will handle things, a bit differently. P2P streaming is highly advanced and this technology will let the users watch real‐time footage as well as previously recorded clips. It is not that lavish, when compared to big networks but the outfit stream is made available at a much cheaper price. Apple TV users will not have to invest too much on higher bandwidths as they can access this service quite seamlessly. But there is a small catch in all this. Currently, the app is invitation‐ only and not available for everybody. Sure, you need some time to tune it in your device, but the advantages of live streaming are quite impressive.
It is completely worth the wait as this app will serve as an alternative to the standard media outlets. Technology is opening new avenues for us every day and in the future accessibility and connectivity will reach a new dimension will apps like these. BitTorrent said in a statement that they have been performing numerous tests for BitTorrent Live and collaborating with broadcast partners. Their confident of this app doing well as the lag time is minimal and it doesn’t depend on the number of users, who are watching the broadcast. The main focus is developing a “live”experience as many users will also access social networking sites, during the broadcast.
