Apple has always given extra attention to Apple TV and no doubt it is one of the best products available in the market. The users had a satisfying experience with Apple TV, but some features needed to be changed. When it came to text input, there were some shortcomings and the updated version tvOS9.2 which was released this week aims to fix that. Though it is a third beta version, the feature which it has added is outstanding. The users can now give commands using voice and there is no need to use its onscreen keyboard. Dictation can be very powerful and quite naturally; the users are finding it useful.
Performing this action is quite simple. If a set top box is in use, the text fields can be operated quite efficiently by long pressing the remote’s Siri button. Once the user has spoken the query, it is processed accordingly. There is more to this, as the inbuilt App store can be accessed with the help of this Siri remote. While using the Apple TV, the user may want to search for a new app and with this advanced feature, it can be performed quite easily. By using voice control, Siri will receive the appropriate input and the resulting content will be shown.
This is a much better beta update with two major improvements. The previous versions had their primary focus on text input, but they were not this specific. It is worth mentioning here that earlier tvOS versions offered assistance for Bluetooth enabled keyboards. The idea of input via voice is highly advanced and it is user‐friendly too. A lot of existing issues will be fixed as users can control their commands and will not have to rely on keyboard inputs. A few apps which reside on the home screen can be grouped into folders and with the presence of an app switcher; tvOS 9.2 will make Apple TV far better. Only the developers can access this beta as ofnow, but it can well be released with iOS 9.3 in spring.
