Amsterdam’s Startup Fest opened up with Tim Cook giving an interview where various comments were made by him pertaining to the ambition goal of the company in regards to the health industry. Recently one thing that caught the eye was a newly posted job listing that was surfaced which revealed that the lookout for a lawyer of a high level is on the pipeline with a specialization towards the privacy regulations of the health industry. It is believed that the posting was done intentionally.
In the Apple’s job listing that was posted, there were a lot of generic yet specific information as to what the company was looking out for. As per the posting of the job, it was stated that a Privacy council is what was needed by the company with HIPAA being the focus point and also as to how the efforts of Apple’s health would be affected. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act or HIPPA are laws which are clubbed together which provides the standards pertaining to the privacy and protection of the various information and data of patents. It also covers the kind of information that can be given out to hospitals, doctors and insurance companies.
Even though the company has not gone really far into the fact of where HIPPAA would be applied however what can be suggested based on the job listing is that the company is on the lookout for a person who has an experiences of around 5‐9 years at a business or low firm which is top tier in nature and has academic credentials that is outstanding with an expertise in health privacy. For the developers of CareKit the HIPPA compliant has not been provided by Apple currently, however with the help of this particular listing it does seem to be that the company has plans to so in regards to this front.
