Apple Wants To Postpone Court Case In The Light Of San Bernardino Case They Are Facing At The House Of Justice

While the case between Apple and FBI has been at the top of all Apple related news for a long time, the company has been involved in another case in New York too. As per a recent motion which has been filed by the District Court of the Eastern District of New York, Apple has asked to keep the court proceedings at bay for a minimum period of 10 days after the company has their hearing at the House of Justice regarding the San Bernardino case. As per the reports, the California case has a deadline set for 5th of April.

Apple Wants To Postpone Court Case In The Light Of San Bernardino Case They Are Facing At The House Of Justice

Last Monday, the Department of Justice asked for the permission to vacate or postpone an evidentiary hearing regarding the San Bernardino case. The request was asked after the DOJ got a third party who showed the potential of breaking open the iPhone 5c belonging to the shooter of the San Bernardino case, Syed Rizwan Farook. Due to this, the prosecutors the FBI had on their side stated that they would not need the help of Apple if the third party is able to break open the iPhone.

Both the cases mentioned above include FBI trying to force Apple to open the iPhone. In case the FBI gets hold any third party who is capable of bypassing the iPhone security and opening the iPhone, or simply just access the internal data of the iPhone and bring it out in the open, there will be no need for Apple to help them. According to Apple, neither the court, nor the FBI has any such proof or argument which makes it completely necessary for Apple to succumb to their requests, however ridiculous they might be.
