Apple to Build Eye Recognition Technology For iPhone

The Touch ID of the Apple phones is expected to be coming through a huge change this time. Apple will be revolutionizing the way through which people unlock their phones. In an ideal situation the fingerprint is being used for detecting the original user however now Apple is expected to be bringing the technology of eye scan. The technology was first clicked in 2014 however Apple is expected to be bringing it into motion by the year 2018. DigiTimes reports that Apple will be bringing technology with the capability of iris scanning in their handsets by the year 2018. The effect of the launch of this technology will be only seen in broader handsets.

Samsung is also likely to beat down Apple on similar grounds by launching their Galaxy Note 7 with similar capabilities. By the second half of 2016, Samsung will be releasing the handsets supporting the iris technology however comparatively Apple shall not be bringing their handsets before 2018 as indicated by the sources.

The colored, flat membrane behind the cornea of eye shall be scanned for recognizing and authenticating the user. The eye membrane of every user is unique like their finger prints. Therefore it will be easier to find the original user after authenticating their scan. There are slight issues with the technology as well. The scan may fail under low light or if the user has consumed alcohol. These are only the suspects which have been drawn against the technology.

The release is still couple of years away from the user and pretty surely Apple may have thought about such instances much before. Nevertheless, the virtual technology is a far distant dream as if now. Apple shall also expand their technology while connecting it them with Apple pay for the users while making online payments.
