Apple Plans Data Center in Ireland

Apple is planning to open their planned data center in the Ireland however there are some concerns building up for them. The concern is over the consumption of the power by the data center. The data center opened by the Apple is so far the biggest data center opened by them anywhere which certainly means that the supply of the electricity will be towards a very higher side. It is estimated that the consumption of the electricity will be approximately surpassing the Dublin’s daily supply of electricity.

The project of the data center to be opened by Apple is estimated to be around worth $850 million Euro or $950 million US dollars. The attorney of the Apple Rory Mulcahy revealed that the Data Center is planned to be running on complete renewable energy. It was earlier disclosed that they shall not be connected with onsite generators however shall be sing the national grid. In the fresh reports filed by the company they seem to be contradicting their own reports. Apple is planning to open 263,770‐square‐foot building which would be powered by 18 generators. The power will be coming from the local generator which is itself a contradiction on its own.

The representative of Apple Oisin Collins says that Apple will be withdrawing 300 Megawatts of power. This means that in next 15 years of time, Apple will be withdrawing eight percent of the Irelands national power capacity. The officials of the Apple company has promised that trees which shall be removed during the construction of the Apple data center will also be restored by them. The data center plan was green signaled by them however no wit has been stopped for a while. Apple is facing some issues regarding the permission.
