The CEO of the Apple Company was recently seen in India. Tim Cook on his visit to India met some of the most influential people across India and the world which included Prime Minister Narendara Modi, The well‐known veteran actor Shahrukh Khan and the industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family. Why did he come to India? Why suddenly Apple is so much interested in India and Indian market? There is some deep business connection for sure which is pushing them. Globally when the sale so of the Apple iPhone went down by 16 percent worldwide, the sales of the Apple iPhone picked up by 56% in India.
This is huge and really huge. Apple has seen a lot of potential in Indian market. They have personally experienced that Indian people seems to be favoring the brand a lot. Tim met Indian PM with his thoughts about investing in India and setting up few Apple plants. Apple has also announced their first development center in Hyderabad. More than 150 developers of the company will be sitting and working here. Apple is also planning to set up their own retails stores in India which means that now people can directly buy all the original phones and parts from the original stores of the Apple.
Apple’s iPhone manufacturing company FoxConn who manufactures the iPhone devices for the company has also announced to 5 billion in plants in Maharashtra. Tim has noticed that most of the handsets selling in India are less than 10k however each of the phone of the Apple is selling at no lesser than 40k each. He proposed towards selling their refurbished phones in India which will broadly meet the expectations of the people. It will help them use Apple and also increase the brand value of the product however it could not pass through. The proposal was rejected straightway.
