Tech company Intel is also pushing Apple to majorly drop their headphone jacks. Going by the sources, Apple using the 3.5 mm jacks feels absolute weird. The port is nearly a century old thing now. A strong replacement for the headphone jacks could be the USB C. This is the next level of the technology which company is looking at as a strong replacement for all the further phones coming through.

Apple is trying to improve people’s life by adding fitness measures to their phone. Apple is trying to build the system where iPhone owners can easily monitor their health and use the device for their fitness tracking. If at all the company wants to measure the temperature of your ears, the information is very hard to measure and pass through via a normal headphone jack however USB‐C could be an apt thing for this purpose. Intel is currently finalizing the deal in the second quarter with the company. Adding these USB jacks will make the headphones smarter too. The 3.5mm jacks is currently supporting analog audio however the USB replacement will give digital sound to the device.

The possibility is limitless with these ports. It would be also possible to upgrade the software of your headphones and will make it easier to transit. Company also agrees that removal of the standard port will add on extra costs for the headphones for the consumers. The headphones will be much costlier than before and it won’t be easier to buy them. Currently the plan of both Apple as well as Intel isn’t clear on how and when the replacement should be done.
