Apple’s Latest Transparency Reports Shows Over 30K Enforcement’s Requests

Apple has published their latest transparency report on the information request by the government covering half of the last year. Apple has received more than 30,000 requests last year and they complied 82 percent of them. None of the company is actually allowed to share the exact number of received requests. Apple has further bifurcated the number of the requests received based on the nation. After careful analysis they found that Apple’s compliance is highest in Europe, Asia, Middle East covering 52 percent out of the total requests and rest of the compliance reports belongs to United States.

The majority of the compliance reports received by the Apple includes request about the stolen devices. The request say also include request for the contact information about the consumers. Apple is one of the company which encourages people to register complaint with law agencies if their device has been stolen by any of the unfortunate incident. Apple’s compliance report has been raised around 97 percent in Latin America and 43 percent in Asia Pacific.

There were total of more than 12,500 requests on compliance received by Apple on annual basis. China topped the list with more than 6000 requests followed by United States of all time. Apple is very active while investigating cases which involve serious danger or death threats.

Apple has also been praised by Electronic Frontier Foundation with the 5 star rating for having the best adopted practice identified till date. Apple has recently updated their IOS 9 with the added functionality of message on the lock screen whenever the phone was being tracked by the employer. Apple is still defending themselves against the justice for the case piled against them in the court of law against FBI. They are defending their stake over end to end encryption on their devices making it stronger and safer than before.
