The fight between the FBI and Apple over the backdoor creation for the unlocking the iPhone is now going in full swing. Apple is now trying to get the necessary support from other companies and individuals. An opinion piece was written by Craig Federighi which was published on the Washington Post. The executive of the company repeats the same arguments that has been made by the company indicates the security efforts can be hampered.
It has been told that in order to get around the safeguards that have been created by Apple, the FBI wants a backdoor to be created which can help bypass the protection that has been set for the pass code. This in turn can result in vulnerability if the force of the government can find a way inside. The creation of such a software can also result in the fact that that this would have to be designed in such a way that it would be compatible to various iPhones. This in turn can be a real weakness and can be used by criminals and hackers. This can also result in a lot of havoc and the personal safety and privacy can be at risk.
As per Federighi, the suggestion made by the government about the system that was designed for the iOS 7 seems to be logical and is good enough. This is now available to those hackers who are skilled but not that much and are malicious in nature. The strategy used for the encryption pertaining to the iOS 8 has been changed by the company.
The changes that have been made pertain to the data entanglement along with pass codes for the device and the only way it can be decrypted is if the user types a password. He also says that of software was created for reasons that are wrong, and then it can harm a lot of people.
