IBM Launches Their First App Called SleepHealth

IBM is now planning to launch their first app which was told officially in an announcement recently. This app is said to run on the Watson Health Cloud which was designed for Research Kit. This app called SleepHealth is a platform that is also open for all researchers who are working with the Research Kit of Apple and are planning to develop an app of their own.

SleepHealth is an app that is designed to study the sleeping habits of the users who have it installed. The researches collect the data that get as well as also find out the solutions of different kinds of sleep problems that are found. This is possible with the help of the sensors that are present in Apple Watch that is used for tracking the sleeping patterns.

This is also the first app for iOS 9.3 that uses the feature called Night Shift. The data that is collected includes clinical information, claims data, treatment guidelines and medical literature. After all the information is collected researches are in hope that they can go ahead and come up with various kinds of interventions for public and personalized health related to the various reasons that are regarding the sleep issues that people face. This will also help in the early detection of patients who are showing symptoms of different kinds of disorders for their mental health including Alzheimer’s.

While the app called SleepHealth is now available on Apple’s App store, IBM has a lot of information about the Watson Health which is available for health researchers who are non profit at no charge. The study that is made from the Sleep health can help find the connections between the quality of sleep of an individual and the activities they do during the day time. It also sees the medical conditions, general heath, productivity and even their alertness.
