When Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple had sat down with David Muir of ABC, the interview included the latest talks that were going on between the FBI and the company. A Californian Court last week had made a request to the company to provide the necessary support that was needed to unlock the San Bernardino gunman’s iPhone 5C.
The reply that the company had made to the request was in the form of a letter. The company stated that they did not want to work on a tool which could be used for unlocking the device. Cool elaborated the decision of the company during the interview with David.
The first question that was put across was the communication the company had made regarding the request that was made by the Justice Department. Cooked stated that the press helped the company to know about the filing. He further stated that this was not the right way to handle such an important issue.
In the next question that was pushed across, there was a little pressure put on to get deep into the understanding of the reasons the company is favouring the user security protection instead of the national security. In reply Cook explained that the public safety was important, this included the families and kids. The data protection of the people is top priority as it may open windows to various kinds of vulnerabilities. He went on to say that the company did not want to create something like this. He went on to say that this was something which could be bad for the country also and that people may get offended by it. He ended his statement saying that there are some things which can be hard and some right while some can be a combination of the two. This issue is one of such things.
