The United States Department of Justice has requested a federal judge to pass an order that will make the company compel with the original order that was passed by the court. They need this step to be taken to ensure that they are able to hack into the iPhone that is evidence for the San Bernardino shooting. The DOJ said that the company’s refusal is nothing but a marketing strategy that is being used by the company. ‘The company is more concerned about the business model of the company.
The DOJ has made this assertion based on the past cooperation. A search warrant had ordered the copy to provide the data that was stored in the devices that ran on the earlier iOS versions. Prior to iOS 8, the company had the tools to unlock any locked iOS devices and extract the data that is stored in it. Due to the fact that the company no longer stores the encrypted keys of the devices, this would make it impossible for Apple to be able to access any information that is stored on the device that runs on IOS 8 and above,
Apple was demanded to come up with a tool that could hack easily and the FBI would be allowed to gain the information that is stored on the IPhone5s for the suspect. It is also essential that they should be able to break through the pass code easily. While this is something that is different, in comparison to the previous time when the company has complied in the past on the pre IOS 7 devices, the new iOS version that would be created by the company should allow the FBI to
a) Eliminate the auto erase function as the iPhone is wiped if a person put the wrong code is
entered 10 ties.
b) The Elimination of any kind of delay that keeps the FBI locked out in case the wrong pass
code is punched in too many times at a stretch.
c) Implementation of a method which will allow the FBI to use software to enter the pass code
electronically.
