While apple has been fighting back in regards to the order that was passed by the court. This battle is now being supported by two well know social media companies, Facebook and Twitter. The decision that the company had made is slowly gaining the hearts of a lot of technology companies that are standing beside it. Tom Cook the company’s CEO had recently opposed to the order pertaining to soften the iOS devices security system.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation had demanded the company to come up with an iOS version that could be used to get into Syed Farook, the shooter in San Bernardino killing’s iOS phone. They wanted a way to crack its pass code. Apple termed this request as a dangerous precedent.
Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, not only stated that he stood by the company but said a special Thank You to Cook’s leadership. He further went on to say that his company was standing by Cook.
On the other hand, a statement made by Facebook, began by saying that terrorism is being condemned by the company that the terror victims have their total solidarity. It went on to say that there is no place those who look to plan, promote or praise any kind of terrorist acts in their services. They did go ahead and gave a hat’s off to the officials who work hard to keep the people safe however this demand is something that can open doors to a lot of security concerns.
The company will fight with aggression against the requirement of the government towards weakening the security. The statement further continued that the demands made by FBI would result in the creation of a chilling precedent, as well as create an obstruction for the efforts that have been put by the company for the security of their products.
