Apple Extends Mac Book Pro Repair Extension Program For Video Issues Until December 31, 2016

For a few of their Mac Book Pro 15″ and 17″ models, a year ago a repair program was launched by Apple. This program was for all the models that the company had sold between Feb 2011 and Feb 2013. The reason why this it was done is because it was reported that there were a few, there were having various kinds of problems. Some of the few that were reported included unexpected system restarting, No or distorted video etc.

The list of models that were eligible for the program could be checked by an online tool called Check Coverage. The affected models that fall in the list will be repaired at no cost by the Company or a Service Provider that is authorized. For those customers who made a payment for the authorized repair, the company can be contacted for a reimbursement. The Mac Book Pro can be brought by the customer to an AASP or Apple store. They can also get the option to mail the Mac Book Pro to any of the Local repair center of the company.

It is reported that the video issues are being faced by a lot of users. This is why a lawsuit is being prompted against the company. There have also believed that there are more than 40,000 online signatures that have been signed. The models that have been affected face regular problems pertaining to the screen malfunctions or visual banding. This is especially applicable to those that watch HD movies or videos with the use of softwares like Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suit and other such CPU intensive softwares. It is believed that due to the Nvidia, which is defective, and even the improper functioning of the AMD GPU whose incorrect functioning is caused due to soldering being lead free. This causes other problems as well as short circuit.
