Verizon Buys Struggling Yahoo for $4.8 Billion

Verizon has announced the confirmation deal of buying Yahoo for $4.8 billion. Yahoo was the pioneer search engine at some point of time on internet however now the legacy has been taken over by Google. Yahoo had been facing losses form a very long time. It could never get back into competition against Google and finally got sold against another company.

The acquisition of yahoo from Verizon will help them with 1 billion searches in a month. On a broader scale yahoo will be helping the fast paced growth of Verizon in addition with AOL. The company will be holding the burden of 25 advertising and media brands. Additionally it will be also separately handling the emails service with 225 million active users in a month. Both Verizon as well as America Online are the partners of Apple. In fact Verizon carries on of the largest partnership with Apple. It is one of the largest network carriers in the world.

Yahoo is also the default search engine for all the products of the Apple. The data gathered from the search engine of the Yahoo is still being preferred and used in the stock apps of the Apple. The weather reviews being provided in all the Apple handsets are being powered by Yahoo. In short the acquisition of the Yahoo via Verizon is looked as one of the most profitable ventures and it is expected to be strengthening the power of Verizon now.

After years of speculation, the sales have finally turned up. It was not easy for both of them. Due to heavy losses being faced, Yahoo turned down more than 1000 employees from their Buenos Aires Mexico City, Dubai, Milan & Madrid offices for controlling some of their major costs. The sale of the company does not include the investment of the companies.
