A dedicated application will no longer be available for the Game Center service with the launch of iOS10. Instead, various actions like inviting or adding friends will now be possible only through the games individually and the expanded messages App of Apple will be used for routing purposes.

Apple had detailed this information at the Worldwide Developers Conference that was conducted recently. Via the Messaging app, the players will be able to invite their friends for the multiplayer games with the new tool that the company is coming up with.

The developers were told by Apple that if they were using the present API of the Game Center invitation, then they did not have to make any changes in the code for the iOS 10. The old method of invitation will replaced automatically by the new method of inviting through messages.

In one of the demonstrations, Megan Gardner, a software engineer with Apple showed how an invite was sent by a player. Through the iMessage, an attachment with the rich link was sent to the iPhone user who was the invitee. In the Message, the inviters also had the benefit of adding a text message if they wanted.

The player can also send invitations to those who are saved in his or her contact list, or even to any of the players who are located nearby through the local network, or even in the cases of those who were online recently. Notifications will be received by the player accounts with legacy Game center from the invites send a message basis. When the link is tapped by the invitee, they will be taken to the game directly. In case they would be required to install the game, then in that case the link will take them directly to the app store of iOS so that they can get it installed.
