While in the past it was officially confirmed, however Unicode Consortium did go ahead and unveiled 72 new emoji officially. The Unicode 9 is said to be made available shortly with the new emojis included. The new set of emojis includes various kinds of sports, objects, faces and foods.

It is also said that along with the iOS10, these new emojis will be included this fall when it will be made public.  Under the People and Smiley’s emoji, there are 22 new ones; this includes a face palm, a man dance, a pregnant woman, a clown face, a nauseated face and the floor laughing face. Another emoji that is included is the selfie one. For the category of Animals, emojis like butterfly, squid, shrimp, shark, lizard, owl, duck, eagle, rhinoceros, bat, deer, face, fox and gorilla has been added by Unicode 9. A wilted flower has been added in the Nature category. For the food and drinks section, there are 18 emojis that have been added by Unicode 9. Under food, you have croissant, peanut, egg, pancake, cucumber and the bacon emoji which is said to be popular.

Whiskey inside a tumbler glass has been added under the Drink category. The activities category will include juggling, goal net, fencer, handball, water polo, wrestler, person doing a cartwheel, uniform for martial arts, boxing gloves and also 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals. The emojis of a drum with drumsticks and a shopping cart has been added to the Objects category. On the official website of Unicode, in a handful of various styles, the emojis are depicted. This is because, the looks of the emoji varies on each platform. It has been put together on Emojipedia the new emojis in the iOS style for people to know how they look. Apple will decide as to when these emojis will be released as though they will be available, they will not just hit the devices the same time.
