Apple’s Plea to Sell Old Phones in Indian Market Rejected by Government

Apple’s plea has been turned down by the Indian ministry. Apple realizes that Indian market is in growing phase for the company and they have also witnessed a lot of people buying iPhone devices however they are also aware that the cost of the device is a huge concern for Indian people. Most of the devices being used by Indians cost lesser than $150. Apple is thoroughly convinced that if they want to completely take over the Indian market then they will have to launch some of their low cost devices. India is a lower middle income group economy. Most of the companies launching their handsets here are falling in lower price group. It becomes easier for Indian people to make a choice and buy the handset. People buying in India are mostly buying via brand value.

If Apple launches their low cost device, their chances of sales would increase however this strategy is not possible at the moment. Apple has not planned anything in similar regards. Apple gets a lot of lesser used devices under their upgrade program from United States. They thought about selling these devices in Indian market however they have not been approved for the same. It is believed that Samsung has been the face behind the disapproval of the company.
