The Beta Program Released For Docker For Window And Mac Platforms

On the occasion of the 3rd birthday, Docker has now made their service available for windows and Mac users with the help of the recently launched beta program. This move is considered to be really positive especially for those who do not like the VirtualBox. The desktop app of the Docker uses the Alpine Linux platform above Mac’s xhyve and Windows Hyper‐V in order for the machines to run. The Docker app can also help to manage the virtual machines due to which is not required to have a separate machine for using Docker.

The environment is said to be easy to deploy, integrated and can help assemble and build various shipping applications for windows or Mac. There are also various improvements that have been made to the app’s toolbox. The app is a lot more reliable and faster, the tool integration of the app is separate for Mac and Windows with the relevant supporting applications that include the user interface and the capability to update automatically. The tool set of Docker is bundled with the Notary command line, Docker compose and the Docker command line.

For the containers that are running on the host network locally, it can be accessed easily. There is a DNS server that is included for the Docker for both Windows and Mac. These are integrated with the various networking systems for the Mac OS X as well as Windows.

The user can also connect Docker to a corporate VPN that is restricted in nature. The Mac compatible Docker has been architected from base so that it can easily fit the sandbox of the OS X and the company is also working along with Apple so that this can be achieved accordingly. The Docker toolbox and Mac Docker can be used together in the same machine.
