Tim Cook the CEO of Apple Inc. Has recently commented that the company will not give in to the order that was released by the federal magistrate pertaining San Bernardino Shooting. As per the order that was sent out, the company was asked to unlock one of the iPhones that was used by the shooters. If the company does this, users are at risk as the protection of their customers will be at question. Cook further went on and called the ruling of the magistrates’ order as a dangerous precedent.

On Dec 2nd, 2015, 14 people were killed during the San Bernardino shooting, for investigation purposes, the company’s help was needed by the FBI to access and find the passwords of the phone that was used by the criminals. They wanted to gain access to the critical and relevant data that was stored in the phone by Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik who was his wife.

While address the customer’s of the company, in an open letter Cook wrote that the company would the company would oppose the order and will speak up on the US government’s face pertaining to the order and will not take things lightly in any way.

As per the arguments from the prosecutions side, it is believed that the account that was created by Farook on iCloud may have information about the communications that was made between the accused and the victims. They further went on to say that to ensure that all evidence was hidden, the account might have been disabled.

Though some information was retrieved after the phone’s data backup was done, however the recent information could not be accessed. The information that they are looking out for pertains to all communications made around 1 1/2 months prior to the shooting.
