It seems that BlackBerry CEO John Chen is all determined to win an irony award for attacking the strong encryption during a security summit. While speaking at the security summit of the BlackBerry, John Chen mentioned that he is disturbed with the decision of the Apple to implement and impose a strong encryption across their devices. Chen calls Apple other fruit company, mentioned that as a citizen he is disturbed with the attitude of the Apple.
Apple has gained an altitude in the society due to their rising fame and now they are always unwilling to help anyone. It appears to be odd for a CEO of the company to attack the secure messaging system of some other company in the public however this is not really the first time when Chen has attacked Apple. It has happened multiple times earlier as well.
Last year a blog post was written and shared by him. He accused Apple of only putting their name and company’s fame at stake during the time of the attack in San Bernardino. Apple went blank here on the request of FBI for unlocking their iPhone 5s device. A case was also filed against them in the court of law which was later dismissed. Apple was unapologetic about their rude and uncompromising behavior. FBi had to spend over a million dollars to get the phone unlocked from some specially hired grey hackers for this one time assignment.
Chen further added that BlackBerry ensure that they are helpful each time to the government authorities. Their company like to find it as their civic duty for helping authorities with their work however Apple is even not able to decrypt the data for them, Right from 2009, the market share of the BlackBerry has gone down from 20.1% to just 0.2%. The user base has shrunk desperately for the company. BlackBerry says they are trying to evolve and shall try to re- establish them again in the market soon.
