It seems to be that the virtual reality interest has finally been shown by Twitter unlike Facebook which is said to be its rival. The reason why this is being said is because recently Alessandro Sabatelli was hired by the company to become the VR and AR section’s director.
He is a person who was first associated with apple and was a designer in the company. During his tenure with apple, he helped in the creation of various user interfaces like the watchOS, OS X and iOS. He is also the person who assisted in coming up with the music visualizer of iTunes.
Upload VR had first spotted the hiring on LinkedIn and discovered that in regards to the VR, there had been a huge number of patents which were said to be impressive up on Sabatelli’s hat. This included notification systems which were location based as well as contextual interfaces that he had done while he was with Apple.
Before he came on board Team Twitter, Sabatelli was associated with a company called IXOMOXI for the VR and AR front. The focused was to come up with interpretations which were visually enhanced for the real world. The first VR app of the company was for VR devices by creating visual filters.
So how would the VR look like for Twitter?
Well one of the aspects would be that an endless line of tweets is what may be seen by VR users. Another option would be that in the future around 360 videos may be posted to a particular platform instead of misusing the 140 character. It is yet to be known on the kind of product that Sabatelli will be working on; however this is something which may not have been seen for a very long time. Only time will let us know what actually is in store in regards to his work and contribution.
