As Per Cowen, the Pnstall Base of the iPhone is Said to Be Growing in Regards to the Upgrades of Older Devices

Cowen and Company’s Analyst Timothy Arcuri had recently issued the investors a note in regards to the upcoming iPhone 7’s continued focus and the major redesigning that the device lacks in reality. As per him, the base that Apple has installed already has the number of iPhone users growing. These are users who in the coming years are said to buy the new handsets.

As Per Cowen, the Pnstall Base of the iPhone is Said to Be Growing in Regards to the Upgrades  of Older Devices

The suggestions that the has been made as per the analysis made by Cowen is in regards to the fact that the presently running base around 1/3rd of the models that are presently running is said to be more than 2 years old. As per what is expected, in the next 4 or 5 quarters, the  percentage is said to grow by around 43% which means that the growth can range from 60 ‐ 70 million.

Another thing that was estimated by Cowen was in regards to the installed based that is presently there. It is said that on a yearly basis, the growth of the base in terms of the number of units is around 70 million, however out of that, only around 30 million units are said to be the units which are 2 years and above. Even in this front, the growth is said to be between 60 million and 70 million.

Arcuri wrote that the entire base growth in other words will be those units which are said to be older and are the perfect choice for upgrades, this is especially considering the fact that the form factor is said to be OLED enabled. He also went on to say that the number of users which are said to be due for the upgrade can single two main possibilities, one that the upcoming iPhone 7 cycle will prove to be better than what is feared by investors, or that the company is planning to set up a super cycle of the iPhone in 2017 with the help of a major redesign.
