Donation of $1M Done by Apple to Chinese NGO for Flood Relief Efforts Assistance

Recently it was officially announced by the CFPA that A receipt of around $1 million or 7 million Yuan was been taken as a donation amount that was being given by Apple. This was a contribution that the company was making towards the relief efforts that are being put for those who have been impacted with the floods along the region of the Yangtze River.

Tim Cook, the CEO of the company in a post that had been uploaded on Weibo, a Chinese social network that is popular that their thoughts were going out to all of the people who had been devastated due to the floods that had struck alongside the Yangtze River.

Around 500 towns and more than 31 million people had been affected due to the rains, and the number of people who needed medical assistance was around a million. Ever since June, there have various kinds of assistance that has been provided which is still going on even today. At the time of crises, the second largest markets have received assistance from Apple even in the past. Even recently, for the financial aid requirements, a contribution of around $1.6 million had been contributed by the company during the time the earthquake had hit the Yunnan Province of China in 2014, this was said to be very devastating and for the relief, the company even went ahead and contributed $8 million for the province of Sichuan.

Apart from that, through the iTunes, the company routinely gets their users to help out by donating to the Red Cross during the time they go ahead and fund any kind of emergency efforts. Apart from that, the company also comes up with special promotions like the World AIDS day where in a certain amount from their retail sales and App Store sale is donated to the RED foundation.
