Speculations Behind what Apple Should Name the Next OS X for Mac

In comparison to the new features, the name of the upcoming software update does not seem to hold a lot of importance. Like the new iTunes or Siri, it will be a big deal for Apple when they plan to change the name of the OS X. There have been various speculations that have been made as well as a lot of evidence that the possibility of the OS X might be named as macOS or MacOS or in the similar grounds; however, it is yet to be known who the winner just may be.

Speculations Behind what Apple Should Name the Next OS X for Mac

Apart from the location name that is based in California, a version number is also present. Well until things come out in the open on the keynote of WWDC, there were polls that were conducted where people could cast their vote as to what they felt the next name could be. On Apple.com, so far there have been references that have been seen of the MacOS and macOS. A few people also suggested that the Mac OS seems to be a traditional and general name. Earlier in the week, the Happy Hour podcast also conducted the poll on this front. The name macOS which has the M in a lowercase, seemed to have appeared recently. The point of argument here is that presently Apple offers for Apple TV the name tvOS, Apple watch has the watchOS and for IPad’s and iPhones it iOS.

However when you talk about a strong brand, Mac on its own is one; this could also be one of the reasons why it could be explained that the capital M for MacOS seems to be apt. Even when  Apple was launching the Apple Watch, they first thought of naming it WatchOS with a capital W, but later on changed it to watchOS.
