The CTO of development Studio Tendigi, Nick Lee is back with a new project, in his last one, he used the Apple Watch to run Windows 95. Now in his recent blog he stated that with the help of a case that was custom built he could use an iPhone to run an Android.
There is a video that has been uploaded online which shows as to how this is possible. In the video you will get to see the way has managed to use the case for the communication purposeas well as built an app that is compatible with the iOS. The Lightening port of the iPhone is used to connect to the case, once that is done, a person can directly launch into the Android. A Nexus 5 was also used in the project as a reference device. This had a Cortex‐A53 processor, 64‐ bit RAM and an 8‐core.
Even though the performance may not be the best, however nonetheless it is incredibly impressive as to how the feat is. The video shows also how various apps like calculator, Play Store etc as well as even connecting to the WI‐FI. On the blog, Lee had written as to how he managed to get the Open Source Project of Android cloned so that the case could be used for running it.
It was a challenge to for the actual case to be created; a 3D printer was ultimately purchased by Lee so that the case could be built after he went through various design iterations. While this case may not be a beauty content winner, however it is pretty impressive. Also featured in the case are allotments for USB Ports, HDMI as well as an SD Card slot. Just like any other project, the cases that are used in the real world are small; however it is an impressive fact that Lee managed to get an android running on an iPhone that can be used just like an external display.
