New Reports State, Shah Rukh Khan Will no Longer be the Indian Brand Ambassador for Apple

There were speculations that were being made about Bollywood Star Shah Rukh Khan becoming a brand Ambassador for Apple in India; however this news turned out to be false. As per ANI, a news agency, it was told by an insider that the company did not need an ambassador for their brand not just in India but in any part of the world.

Mr. Khan, who is one of the noted actors in the country as well as worldwide; was supposed to become the major coup for the marketing efforts of Apple for their products. These speculations came up during the time when Tim Cook, The CEO of Apple was down in India for a business trip in May. Apparently he was seen at the dinner party which was hosted by Shah Rukh. There were other Bollywood celebrities who were also seen in the party that King Khan had hosted. Though various other cultural stops were made by Cook, however the visit to the party could have made sense if there were plans to recruit Khan. After the party, Mr. Khan had also tweeted thanking the guests especially Tim and his team for being a part of the party.

If you look at things in a broader spectrum, Apple as a company actually has used celebrity ambassadors to sell their products, however till date, no one from India has been tapped. India has been positioned by the company as its next big frontier even though there are a lot of people in the country who still live in low financial conditions. On the other hand, there are a few people who can still afford to buy the products of Apple Presently the market share of the iPhone is around 2%. To help improve the smartphone’s usefulness, new LTE networks will be used.
