The Drive has recently listed the 10 most influential People in the Automotive Technology and while Jony Ive stood at the Number 6 position, the third spot was taken by none other than the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook. As per what was cited by The Drive, the company’s approach to the automotive world with the help of car apps that are watch based and Car Play are justified to the inclusion of what Cook has in mind.
We all know that the entire project of the Apple Car has been hitting headlines for various reasons. The recent most headline hitter was about the size office space that the company was looking out for the 600 team for the research and development part of the project.
As per the speculations made, the main reason behind the appearance of Cook and Ive in the top 10 list is one of the factors of the Apple Watch’s ability in regards to the its ability of communicating with vehicles which is very similar to the Bentley app that was launched recently.
While referring to Jony Ive’s position in the list, The Drive took the reference of how Ive could influence on Apple’s “iconoclasm and cleanliness” and also about the fact that for the car industry it is a potentially disruptive force and about the fact that it is already a leader for the tech industry.
It also went on to say that ever since smartphone’s have been displaced wristwatches for many, the company’s latest iPhone model is one of the best designed things that the company owns. In regards to Tim Cook, they went to say that while the whip cracking captain title was taken by Steve Jobs, Tim Cook in his own ways has shown that his hands can extend to various other horizons in the car world.
