The well‐known and very famous social networking site Twitter has rolled in some important changes. Talking about the updates, finally twitter has blocked U.S. government agencies from spying on the tweets being exchanged between the users. All the intelligence services of the government have no access to the Dataminr service to analyze the information being exchanged on the social network tunnel.
After Apple’s refusal to help FBI in hacking the recovered phone from the San Bernardino case followed by Facebook’s refusal to roll back the end to end encryption for the user on WhatsApp this is another very bold move from Twitter.
Twitter has no control over Dataminr however the company hold 5 percent of their stakes which gives them the special authority to judge and analyze each and every tweet by passing their network however the special powers given to US government agencies. Twitter has not officially confirmed anything however the intention of the company has been clarified by a senior official in US intelligence. In an interview, Twitter revealed to Engadget that they never allowed any company to sell their data to any intelligence service or any private company. It is only Dataminr who boasted to have special powers to help intelligence crack on ISIS, next vulnerable activities and special news coverage. This is one of the steps which will certainly nota good move from the company and looking at the flip side it could also risk the life of a lot of people.
US government has shown their concern on the situation and is not happy with the circumstances. It is important for them too to keep a track on the messages being exchanged. The repetition of the cycle was done to keep a feed on the images and protect the people from the vulnerabilities of the society.
