In recent times, internet based television subscription plans are growing rapidly. One of the largest companies who are looking to enter in this new field of online entertainment is the online video streaming giant YouTube. As per the recent rumours, the company is looking to start up its own private television service without collaborating with any such service providers.
According to the recent reports appearing on Bloomberg, the company is looking forward to create a special television service they are calling “Unplugged”. This service will offer its subscribers a number of channels at a set priced rate.
In the past few months, YouTube is rumoured to be working on this specific project. According to the recent reports, they have already built the basic infrastructure which is necessary to start off with the program. As per the reports, the final development will complete sometime around 2017, which will be followed by the company releasing it to the public for subscription. On the other hand, though YouTube has had talks with some of the biggest names in the television industry, like CBS, Fox, Viacom and some more, they have not been able to secure the rights to subscribe for any of these above services.
According to the rumours, YouTube is actually aiming to start of a similar kind of service that Apple wanted to start of some months back. As everyone knows, Apple did not finally go ahead with the services, but YouTube has high hope for themselves. As per the plans, YouTube will be offering their subscribers a simple television pack at just $35 USD per month. This pack will include some of the most popular channels from the major US television service providers along with a number of popular channels from the local cable.
