The ANZ website stated that many American Express and Visa cards are not being supported, this include the Platinum Card of the ANZ Rewards, The ANS Business Advantage with the Debit card of Visa, the ANZ Access Advantage with the Debit Card of Visa. For the MasterCard, the ANS Corporate and ANZ Access is card is not supported.
In Australia, Apple pay was available only through the partnership that the service had with American Express. Due to this, the service was restricted only to those who had an American Express card. In Australia, Apple Pay’s service was rolling out slowly in the country, as per rumours, this was because of the negotiation problems the company was having with the banks.
In Australia, the list of the four major banks includes ANZ, National Australia Bank (NAB), Westpac (WBC), Commonwealth Bank (CBA) and ANZ. Jennifer Bailey the Vice President of Apple Pay stated that as a part of the expansion plan of the service in the country, Apple is still talking to the 3 banks that are remaining while ANZ has come onboard in the list of supporting banks.
As of right now, the Apple Pay service is available to American Express and Visa customers of Untitled States, China, UK, Australia, Singapore and Canada. However the later two is only limited to the Users of American express. The expansion plans of the company for the Apple Pay feature is now going to target Spain and Hong Kong under the partnership with American Express. The support for Apple Pay will be introduced by Apple for the credit cards and additional banks in Singapore.
