Between the time period of 215 January and 2016 January, a head analyst of Adobe checked out more than 600 billion visits on the website to collect data. The data collected by this analyst showed clearly that browsing of Google Chrome only on smartphones has actually surpassed the usage of Safari browser on any device worldwide. At 127%, the value by which Google Chrome has overtaken Safari is extraordinary. On the other hand, reports show that both the browsers had a net increase in browsing over the period of a year, but when compared to each other, the growth shown by Google Chrome is much higher at 75% to the 33% rise shown by Apple’s Safari.
According to Becky Tasker, the top Managing Analyst working in Adobe Digital Index, the reason for which Google Chrome is actually way ahead of Apple is the compatibility of the software. We all know that the Google Chrome software is supported by many different platforms and Oss. On the other hand, it is not the same for Safari. Although the facilities offered by Safari are much more sophisticated and desirable, it is only for Apple iPhone, iPad and Macbook users.
When the comparisons were made only among iOS devices, it could be seen that the use of Safari was much more than the use of Google Chrome, which is compatible for iOS platform too.
Here, Safari had the upper hand since the software is already installed in all Apple devices but Apple users need to download the Google Chrome software separately. Moreover, on comparing only the smartphone market, it has been seen that the net increase in visits for Safari is a bit more than Google Chrome. Safari has a net increase of 34% as opposed to Google Chrome, which had only 19% increase.
