The Silicon Valley is slowing being caught up to by the real world. While tech firms the globe, it is being cracked down y the tax man. Even Airbnb and Uber have seemed to make enemies and no doubt the ongoing trouble between the Feds and Tim cook. At one time, the life of tech companies was brilliant, Lots of services were offered and even products were made not just in the technological aspects but also in the software field. The money would be easily made, if you take a look at Oracle or Microsoft during the 1990’s. Other sectors had things like government regulation, environmental damage, Oil spills etc.
However, ever since the internet rose, the ability of the companies was not to become transnational however they wanted to be supranational. While they want to be active everywhere, the responsibilities do not seem to be anywhere, even there is a change in the attitudes. To illustrate with a live example, we can take the recent case of San Bernardino mass murder. The row the company has against the government is also one of the latest examples where you can see that the world of technology has discovered that whatever they do now is not without a consequence.
Right from being pushed to the wall by the FBI to even presidential candidates having a lot to say, Apple has been facing the brunt of things in every way, the reason behind it is just because they were not willing to hack the iphone that was used by the terrorist. However it was not just Apple, even Matt Brittin of Google would probably have nightmares about appearing before the committee of Commons public accounts. When questioned about the tax deal by Google, he was not able to answer how much was earned.
