Donald Trump, one of the most reputed politicians of the United States has shown his disapproval of the decision made by Apple not to comply with the order placed by FBI, using his iPhone. Moreover, he is ironically using his own iPhone to boycott the decision taken by Apple CEO, Tim Cook.
In a recent event, when the frontrunner of the Republic presidential went to the Town Hall to give a speech, he clearly stated to his followers to make sure that they move away from the world’s no. 1 company, till the CEO of Apple comply with the FBI order. The order which FBI investigators gave Apple, was to help the investigators gain access to the iPhone formerly used by the shooter of the San Bernardino shooting case. As found out, the shooter, Syed Farook used an iPhone, which had the default security systems all iPhones have. Apple was handed a court order by the FBI to create such a program which allowed the FBI investigators to enter any number of passwords without the iPhone system wiping off the internal memory of the phone.
According to the coverage of the event, Donald Trump clearly stated that not only him, but all the people who follow him should actually boycott the company and not use their products until and unless they did what the FBI asked them to do. The biggest irony of the whole situation was that, right after he asked his followers to boycott, he used his own iPhone to send out tweets stating the same to all his Twitter followers.
The main problem FBI is facing is that in all iPhones, the security is set in such a way that on multiple entries of wrong passwords, the phone automatically wipes off all the internal memory. Creating a backdoor for this would give the FBI the power to access not only the iPhone related to the San Bernardino case, but all other iPhones. This is the basic reason Apple has rejected the order put forward by FBI, in order to guard the security of all Apple users.
