Apple innovates; they think differently and always experiment with future technology. Those who use iPhone know that the company offers unmatched service. Even after heavy usage, the phone doesn’t become slow or unresponsive. So how do they do it year after year? The answer is simple, futuristic technology. Chips are delicate and if they are not handled with care, they can become useless in minutes. Apple has a reputation to protect, they spent years to build their brand image and it is their USP. Apple’s tech department is researching on EMI shielding and this technology is simple awe‐inspiring. With the launch of iPhone7, this technology will become more popular and the micro‐chips used in the handset will be shielded.
In the future, we will see improved iPhone’s with better performance and complex functions. This is the beginning. But it is not that, they haven’t tested it before. Apple has given two companies the responsibility to produce EMI shielding and they are ‐ 1.Amkor and 2. StatsChipPac. As it can be said iPhone 7 is a different handset altogether with so many amazing features.
But that’s one side of the story. The cost will most definitely increase as the phone is an improved variety. But Apple relies on their loyal customers and marketing strategies, to get their job done. But the real challenge which they will face, is selling this product in newer markets. In countries like India, where budget Smartphones galore, only a few buyers will go for this handset. Apple wanted to make wireless communication seamless; this is basically why they introduced EMI Shielding.
