Back in the year 2014, Apple purchased Beats, which led to Apple not only creating a series of new and improved headphones and speakers, but also formulated the foundation for their new live music portal, Apple Music. In present times, the famous co‐founder of Beats, who is also one of the largest legends of rap, Dr Dre, is rumored to be taking a much more active role in the on goings of the company. According to reports on The Hollywood Reporter, Dr Dre is currently collaborating with Apple to form an original and unique series known as Vital Signs, which also features Dr Dre as the show’s main lead. This whole concept is quite new for Apple as well as users of Apple Music. Before this, Apple has never created original series content, and this new step can be taken as a measure to promote and increase the audience of Apple Music.
For a few years now, there have been constant rumors about Apple trying to develop and release a TV package which will be streamed live. On the other hand, the rumor topic has changed to Apple trying to create some content for a few months now. When the talks about Vital Sign came in to light, it was said to be streamed only to Apple Music and not iTunes or any other streaming package.
According to THR, the original series, Vital Signs, is supposed to have 6 episodes, all of which will have a run time of 30 minutes. The series is mainly categorized as a drama which has the feel of a “semi‐autobiography”. All in all, its looks like it will be something like “Compton”, the film which was promoted by Apple Music as an exclusive original soundtrack.
This particular series is still in the manufacturing mode, with the episodes and scenes still being shot. It is expected that all the episodes from the first series by Apple will be released all at once, as soon as the whole work is done. The only glitch is that, although everything is out in the open and known to many, Apple has still had no official announcements of the details. Reports also say that although other projects like this are not being filmed at the present, there are ample chances that Apple will further extend this work and shoot new series with other artists as well.
