The relatively new Apple service Apple Music has now over more than 10 million subscribers and users spanning all platforms and operating systems including PC and Android and even Apple TV. Apple Music has achieved this feat in just six months while it took six years for its biggest rival Spotify to reach that milestone.
Apple Music has had presence in over 100 countries since mid 2015. It has cemented its position as being the biggest streaming service after Spotify. Spotify boasts of a 20 million huge paying user base, along with 75 million active users, that too three weeks prior to the Apple Music launch.
Spotify has had a beginners advantage as it had created this market with its inception in October 2008 , in Europe. It took a couple of years for the service to enter the United States due to some negotiations with major record companies of the US. After the US entry the platform has seen its presence grow to over 100 countries.
