The CES 2016 has seen many releases by many huge companies. This time Seagate has come up with the “world’s thinnest” 2 TeraByte Hard Disk. The new product is a sequel product to the Backup Plus Slim, it has been named – “Backup Plus Ultra Slim Hard Drive”.
The design has been revamped, the all-new enclosure is just 9.6mm thick, which is 50% thinner than any other 2TB hard drive present in the market. The product will be available in two color schemes – the platinum edition and the gold edition. The new Backup Plus Ultra Slim has an amazing metal exterior shell that also has a concentric circle-shaped pattern made on it. It will available in two variants – 1TB and 2TB variants.
The release statement made by Tim Bucher, the company’s VP says “The launch of the Backup Plus Ultra Slim builds on Seagate’s rich history of award-winning innovation to give users even more capacity in an incredibly small form factor, based on our breakthrough ultra-mobile hard drive technology, this new storage solution gives them a better way to manage the increase in both data volumes and number of devices.”
The company plans on beginning to ship the product in the middle of the First Quarter of 2016. The prices of the product have not been disclosed as of yet.
