VOIP‐Pal Sues Apple for 2.8 Billion in Las Vegas

Why is it always with Apple that they get into troubles one after another? Very recently Apple was hit by a court case from FBI later Apple had to face the record low sales and profits of the quarter. They lost nearly lost 80 billion in the market and now they are saying to have been struck by a law suit on using VOIP for their devices. The lawsuit damage is worth 2.8 billion and if proved guilty Apple will be liable to pay this much. The patent court case has been filed in District Court in Las Vegas, Nevada United States.

VOIP‐Pal Sues Apple for 2.8 Billion in Las Vegas

The company who has filed the lawsuit against Apple with the damage worth 2.8 billion has been counted it according to the rate of the 1.25 percent of the accumulated royalty. They have sued Apple for using their technology without their permission. If Apple is proved guilty then they have to bear a huge loss in the patent case against the company.

The figured came after adding the total value of the devices which was iPhone (55‐percent), iPad (35‐percent), and Mac (10‐percent). The amount after being added in total comes around 2,38 billion US dollars. VoIP Pal (VPLM) claims that Apple has used their product without any copyright. The company is also fine with settling the matter with court outside the court and also looking to sell the license of the patented technology with Apple. This is certainly not one of the typical court case which has been filed by the company, They have also filed couple of court cases on similar ground on AT&T and Verizon too. None of the companies has spoken anything about the case filing and trying to keep it away from the attention of the media as well as the people.
