It seems to be that the final verdict that Apple has been expecting in regards to the development of the data center in Ireland’s At Henry later on in the month. The proposed $960 million center has been the talk of various headlines. Earlier in the year, there was a hearing that took place orally pertaining to the developments of the center. The recommendation from Stephen Kay, an inspector who was hired to provide his take on things of the project has been submitted. The Irish Advisor board is presently reviewing these recommendations.
The center site is said to be spread over 500 acres which will be used for powering up Siri, Maps, iMessages, App Store and Apple Music. These services of Apple is said to be those projects which are eco friendly even though there has been a lot of criticism that has come across. One of the major concerns is the fact that there could be an impact on the wildlife that is locally there which includes badgers and bats.
Another factor that is a concern is the amount of power that is needed to run the data center. For that, apple did go ahead and give a reply about their own plans when it came to the power generation. They stated that on the site, there would be no power generators that would be built. The group of residents that live there has concerns that the data center would end up taking a lot of the electricity that is allotted to the state.
Originally the plans of the company were to start the site construction by the end of last year, however due to the verdict delay by the board, this was not possible. The one thing that is not unusual is the fact that hearings are being conducted in regards to major projects and the developments that are taking place.
