Facebook’s business model is different, they test services before monetizing. Lots of good people come together and they use a particular service for some time, this helps in building popularity. When Mark understands that it is capable of generating revenue, he goes for the kill. From page reach to promoted posts, he has done it everywhere. He has the volume now; the usage will not be defined by anyone. Chatbots required huge effort, Mark repeatedly invested in that. The team is aiming to make every service equally great, this will charge the main brand.
Users enjoyed privacy before; Mark is snatching that away from them. The capability is good, it is futuristic too. After 3-4 years, Facebook will be a complete business tool. Communication will happen on one side, business will happen on the other. The annoyed users can complain a lot, Mark will pretend not to hear them. Facebook appointed David Marcus to handle messaging and create specialized products in that ecosystem. This is perhaps the biggest exploitation of their user base, advertisers will bombard messages directly. Facebook will go way higher in the charts; the company knows the secrets of modern business.
Messaging is getting a new look, everything is automated. Companies can talk with them and know about their preferences, targeting will be perfect. Brands have to break the first barrier now, the rest is rather easy. Sponsored messages happen in LinkedIn, Facebook users are now. Too much selling can hurt their popularity, Mark never faced that. Brands are basically firing in the dark; they have no idea about the outcome. The entire money can be wasted; they will still take that chance. No one reacts to newsletters, Facebook realized this problem. They want replies from people; they want users to access things quickly. Nothing can be said about the user experience as of now.
