As reported by Variety, Apple’s ‘Planet of the Apps’ TV show presented in the form of a reality show, is set to see some star appearance. On-screen character Gwyneth Paltrow is required to “serve as a guide to the contestants on the up and coming reality arrangement. Furthermore, Gary Vaynerchuk or Gary V has marked on to be a counsel of the show. Artist like will.i.am will likewise serve as a counselor which recommends his part will be more constrained than what is anticipated beforehand.
Open call for casting
A month ago, Apple posted an open casting call for this pre-planed reality show for potential members. This is a unique reality show that will concentrate on some competitive application development for Apple. At the end of the series, the winner will be rewarded with the venture capital funding.
Planning for the series
Apple has planned to produce the series taking help from Ben Silverman, the creator of The Biggest Loser. Apple has also planned to seek help from Howard T. Ownes, the creator of the MasterChefs Junior. This series was announced by Apple long back in March. The description of the series, as provided by Apple sounded like it is going to be a documentary style production regarding the app economy.
Other plans of Apple
Apart from “Planet of the App’ which is scheduled to be shown on broadcast television, Apple’s plan is to create an original piece for Apple Music taking help from Dr. Dre. ‘Vital Signs’ is the expected name of the series and this is going to depict a story that is loosely based on Dr Dre’s life. IT is going to be a fully fictional story.
Though Apple is busy to produce ‘Planet of the Apps’, but according to Eddy Cue, the company is showing no interest in creating TV shows. Moreover, he is also of the opinion that original content like Netflix has moved to ‘Orange is the New Black’ and ‘House of Cards’.
