Apple Watch came at the right time, but it didn’t create the desired effect. It lost the battle and gave the advantage to the competitors. Apple smartly introduced new technologies, but some roadblocks were created recently. People wanted simple watches; Apple thought watches can do so much more. Touchscreens are cool, but mixing that with a keyboard may not be cool.
Touch Bar definitely has some powerful features, but it has plenty of complications. The typing experience gets a boost; the surface has multiple planes now. Every device has a different definition of touch, it varies widely.
Touch bar made people skeptical, the reviewers are clueless. The research work must be appreciated, Apple must have thought about something. It has no direct implications. The company’s innovative vision is not matching with the people for the first time, this is a big gap.
Technology can change a customer’s usage pattern; it really can be that powerful. Futuristic technology is slowly coming; people are paying the extra money too. It can be sidelined too; this decision will be left on the users. From multitouch capabilities to shining appearance, the feel didn’t impress many users. It is very small and clumsy, handling is very hard.
Shortcuts are not used by most people; touch bar can make that simple. This costly alternative can become unpopular; Apple’s marketing must come into play. Apple had high hopes for their “great” watch, it performed so poorly. Too much features are not needed, the right ones are needed. The slow apps were pathetic, the design lacked simplicity and the interface was old. Function keys are much more user-friendly, the bar is a luxury. It will not replace anything for now; the bar will have its own specialized use. Some Apple fanatic always love new products, this addition will only appeal to them.
