Internet has become a brutal place; performance is the only scale here. In the next 10 years, only a few apps will do business. Revenues are calculated each quarter, poor apps have to die. Twitter was associated with many useful services, but they failed to take it higher. Vine lived for three years; it never left a permanent mark. The app garnered some attention, but lost to GIFs.
The videos were too short, people wanted to see more. GIFS were funny, they got shared more. So as Vine leaves the internet, the creators wanted to revamp things. Mobile is a platform dominated by big players, Vine’s competition was huge.
Views are not everything, the monetization prospects were low. Vine’s executives are not quitting right now, they want another chance. As video gave them a good market, they will use video differently now. They are shifting to streaming and this can be a pretty good move. ‘Hype’ will be live very soon, but the road will not be easy. The industry has numerous streaming services, Hype must offer something new. Facebook Live and Periscope has good control on the market, YouTube is slowly penetrating too. Users want a common app, which has easy functionality. It has nothing similar to Periscope, Colin Kroll confirmed.
Periscope is extremely simple, people love its features. Hype has different capabilities, it will make things interesting. Live streams are generally boring; other media can’t be inserted into it. They thought about the future of streaming and came up with this. Videos, Pictures, emojis, GIFs and music can be inserted directly, communication will be extremely immersive. Facebook is watching their features closely, they can incorporate them soon. Broadcasts will be “sparkling”; hosts will have more control over everything. This is definitely creative, but users have to connect with the idea. It brings the best features of many apps, Hype must do well.
