One of the courts from East Texas has ruled against Apple a damage claim of $625 million in settlement for the infringement charges related to I Messages. The charges were filed by VirnetX over the patent filed by them related to FaceTime and iMessage. The company claims that the technology being sued by Apple today was made by them. Apple never paid them the dues and is using them illegally. If Apple loses this case then it shall be the highest damage claimed against Apple in the history.

The case was earlier settled against a very good amount however plaintiff wasn’t satisfied. They asked for 190 million more against the foreclosure for next 4 months and hence the case is getting revisited again. According to CNBC the claim amount of $625 Million was voided in Tyler, Texas by Robert Schroeder (District Judge). He claimed that amount reached after adding 2 separate cases. Though both the cases were very much similar and contained incredible similarity. There was an unfair trial within the case due to the repeated references from the prior jury verdict. Back in May, VirnetX the Nevada based company asked the court to completely ban both the apps of the Apple that is FaceTime and iMessage. They claim that Apple has done huge damage to the company. The damage can never be repaired by anyone now. The trials will happen in 2 parts and the first trial out of the two is September 26th.

This time Apple will be defending them again. The trial is very important for Apple. Apple has already lost once against VirnetX back in 2012 for $368 million though the verdict came out in 2014. This time Apple will be again defending them. Apple is in a lot of pain with this court case. All fingers crossed for the final verdict now.
