Each era is marked by some inventions, the process is continuous. TV was great in the 1990s, but this interface is obsolete, it demands changes. Eddy Cue mainly handles iTunes, but he is aware of other Apple products as well. The prestigious television industry has many milestones, but innovation is stopped for some time. Apple contacted HBO and they planned to design the future. The restrictions are becoming fewer and fewer, the growth is continuous. Other brands are not serious about developing television; this gave a golden opportunity to Apple. Competition can come later, that will not be a big problem.
The entire concept of TV must be revamped, changes will only come then. HBO’s powerful content is being wasted continuously; it must reach its full potential. The first problem is the lack of easy navigation, it gets confusing at times. Cue called it “Glorified VCR”; there is nothing modern about it. The different channels show poor content, it is really disgraceful. Apple must ease up this process; users will find things more easily. Discovering content is not easy though, it requires a strong interface. Television now has a good relationship with Siri, it is wonderful. From universal search to searching multiple apps, the avenues are brilliant.
The brain of this system has died a long time ago, no one revived it. However, Cook has very little hope about television streaming. They are not getting the success they deserve; this is something to worry about. The small barriers will not stop them; this is a technology that can promise high returns. All content providers will come under the big banner of the “App Store”, users will choose freely. The cost will be regulated by Apple, the profit should be good. HBO never made ordinary content; this is why Apple picked them. Netflix will not sit quietly though, they are preparing themselves.
