Authorities have arrested 6 people who tried to make fraudulent purchases at the retail stores of Apple in Chicago. All the arrested people belonged to New York. According to the reports of the Chicago Tribune, the charges of “an organized criminal enterprise” have been placed upon all of them. The officials reported that these people would fly to O’Hare International Airport.
They would rent a car and then visit the Apple retail store finally for making an attempt to purchases fraudulently. The suspects were involved with stolen credit cards. They stole these credit cards from many people and wanted to make purchases under their name. The information about them was obtained last week by the authorities. Upon investigating further the suspects were revealed with credit cards of various victims.
The authorities claimed to raise the surveillance at the Apple store, Deer Park (Chicago) and the nearby location for tapping these criminals. Finally all these 6 people were caught successfully. All of them tried to make some purchases at the Apple store on between Sunday and Wednesday. Apple products worth $10,000 were also recovered from them. Multiple felonies have been charged upon all of these 6 people and none of them is walking free with a bail now.
The spokesperson Christopher Coveilli & Sheriff spokesperson noted that these types of fraudulent operations are very common in state, as revealed in a press release. The most common target for the fraudulent transaction and robberies is Apple store. People try to make an attempt for purchasing high value items from their stores. A man in Florida was recovered with Apple goods worth $309,000 stolen from the Apple store. In a similar event, someone possessed as an Apple store employee and stole $66,000 worth goods. Most of the activities involve transaction though stolen debit/credit cards.
